Dow Jones Indexes Analytics & ResearchHighlights for the Dow Jones-UBS Commodity Index as of January 3, 2012:This month's roll period will take place from Monday, January 9 to Friday, January 13. The next monthly roll period will take place from Tuesday, February 7 to Monday, February 13. This month, only Gold, Lean Hogs and Live Cattle are rolling contracts within the Dow Jones-UBS Commodity Index. However, January also marks the annual rebalance for the Dow Jones-UBS Commodity Index with new target weightings and the addition of the Brent futures contract. The largest price increases in component futures contracts over the last 30 days come from Nickel (+12.8%), Corn (+9.5%), Soybeans (+7.8%), Wheat (+7.0%), Unleaded Gas (+6.3%), and Soybean Oil (+6.0%). The largest price decreases in component futures contracts over the last 30 days come from Natural Gas (-17.9%), Silver (-9.7%), Zinc (-8.5%), Gold (-8.0%), and Lean Hogs (-5.3%).
