Plains Fed Cattle Trade Opened At $113 In Panhandle Wednesday

        Panhandle fed cattle trade kicked off Wednesday with moderate movement at $113, a bit softer than last week’s $113 to mostly $114 market.
     Opening bids were $112, asking prices $114-115.
     The Texas Cattle Feeders Association counted 45,362 head on area showlists, up 1056 head from last week. Formulas were up a scant 227 head at 62,265.

Slaughter Meat Goat Prices Firm To Much Lower Recently

  Slaughter meat goat prices ranged from firm to lower in most recent sales. San Angelo was firm, Goldthwaite steady to firm, Hamilton steady, Fredericksburg $5 to as much as $20 lower, and New Holland, Pennsylvania mostly $15 lower per head.

     Goat slaughter under federal inspection the week ending March 5 totaled 9778 head. Goat meat imports for the week ending February 5 totaled 26 metric tons, all from Australia.
